MY3 Sifu Moy Lung Barry O’Brien
In 1990 at age 14, MY3 Sifu Moy Lung Barry O’Brien began training Ving Tsun (wing chun) Kung Fu under Grandmaster Moy Tung, and joined his Sifu’s inner circle (MY3 Association) two years later. He became a member of Grandmaster Moy Yat’s GSS Association for grandstudents in 2000, with a traditional Bai Tze ceremony. He was the last person to receive this honor from Moy Yat before the great Grandmaster’s passing in 2001.
Moy Lung earned a BA in Business, worked, invested, and taught in his Sifu Moy Tung’s Richmond Moy Yat Kung Fu Academy for a decade, before founding the Richmond/Henrico West End Academy of Kung Fu in 2011, to focus on teaching Ving Tsun full time. He regularly spends time with his Sifu, and continues to advance his skills by training on his own and with his Kung Fu brothers.

The Academy of Kung Fu offers instruction and training in the Ving Tsun (wing chun) Kung Fu system of martial arts, for self-defense, health & fitness in mind and body. Group classes and private lessons are available, for men, women, kids and teens. The school is in the West End of Henrico, Richmond, Va, with Innsbrook, Short Pump, Glen Allen and Tuckahoe about 5-10” away.
The Academy is located in the Gold’s Gym Plaza shopping center on West Broad Street, near Parham Road, and convenient to Interstate 64 and 295. The school has 1000 square feet in an upgraded facility with multiple workout areas, plus space to train outdoors. For those on advanced Ving Tsun training, there are Muk Yan Jong Wooden Dummy’s and Luk Dim Boon Kwan poles.
